Advocate the CU Difference with the REAL Solutions Scorecard

The new REAL Solutions Scorecard for Wisconsin Credit Unions for 2011 is available to teach the CU Difference and build pro-credit union relationships with lawmakers, media and others in your community. Encourage your staff and directors to read it and share it!

The Scorecard showcases the success of Wisconsin credit unions’ REAL Solutions – voluntary programs and services offered by credit unions to help members and communities. It shows that credit unions are socially responsible without any state or federal mandates requiring it.

Each year, the piece is shared with:

Lawmakers. Hardcopies of the Scorecard are distributed annually by Activists to state legislators during the League’s state Government Affairs Conference and with Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation during CUNA’s Governmental Affairs Conference. Wisconsin lawmakers see highlights of its contents again as part of the League’s monthly newsletter, For the Record. Chapters have also used the Scorecard during legislative nights in which lawmakers have been invited guests. Activists also refer lawmakers to the Scorecard as they continue dialog with them throughout the year at branch openings, ground breakings or meet and greets.

Media. Hard copies including a press release are mailed to newsrooms statewide. Links in additional press releases that the League emails to media throughout the year serve as an ongoing resource for reporters and editors.

Facebook users. The League’s followers on Facebook receive information and updates from the Scorecard as new statistics and information become available.

The online version of the Scorecard will be updated throughout the year, and encourages readers to visit the "REAL Solutions – For a Reason" website. This site features video testimonials from credit union staff, directors and members explaining how credit unions improve the quality of life in Wisconsin communities. All Wisconsin credit unions are urged to contribute 1-2 minute videos explaining their successes providing REAL Solutions locally.
