Contact Compliance
The Legal Affairs staff is dedicated to helping credit unions meet the compliance requirements of state and federal laws. Compliance staff can be contacted by telephone, email or fax between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm during the week. The staff, besides being on hand to answer a wide range of questions that deal with compliance, also offers:

Legal Affairs Department Staff
John Engel has been at The League assisting credit unions with compliance, policies and procedures for over twenty years. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in history and a Masters in library science at UW - Milwaukee before graduating from Marquette University Law School in 1986. He draws on his past experience as director, president, and secretary of a Milwaukee cooperative to assist credit unions with governance issues.
Kim Hoppe has worked in the financial services industry for over 20 years holding various positions in customer service, administration, management, documentation and most recently as a financial advisor. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and graduated with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 2000. Kim will utilize her past experience to assist credit unions with compliance questions. Kim also provides service to credit unions through the Compliance Specialist Program offered by the League Services Corp.
Margaret Ramstack is the Legal Affairs Department Administrative Assistant. She is responsible for production and broadcasting the ii Releases and Compliance Courier along with updating The League's Compliance website. She joined The League in 2002 and brought with her the understanding of how to efficiently use software to present information to credit unions.

Jo Whiting is Executive Vice President/Chief Advocacy Officer of The League. Contact Jo for Human Resources issues. Prior to joining the League, she was an attorney in private practice, where she led her law firm's Credit Union Group and was a member of the Labor & Employment Team. Jo has been a frequent speaker about compliance at seminars and training sessions for employers, their employees, credit unions, CUNA, and state leagues. She has incorporated her experience and expertise into the development of the programs for these HR Performance Management Services. |
