Entertainment at Convention is a "Grand
Slam"
Convention’s entertainment has something
for everyone. If you want to golf, hit the dance floor, shop, sightsee
or just enjoy all the camaraderie of your credit union peers, it’s
the place to be! You’ll enjoy:
- The Greater Credit Union Golf Open. Wednesday
morning we'll kick things off with our Greater Credit Union Golf Open (shotgun start) at the beautiful Ironwood course in Sussex.
You'll be challenged by peers but also the rolling hills of the
Kettle Moraine. Proceeds benefit Children's Miracle Network
Hospitals. If you don't have your
own foursome, no worries! We have a spot for
everyone!
- A Wednesday Night Pep Rally Party with the Boomers
Band. Back by popular demand, the Boomers are back to rock the night away to some of the biggest hits of
the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s. Jim Schrimpf of Brewery Credit Union
transforms from sedate financial professional to rock and roll savage as
part of this high-energy trio. The band is also known for inviting
performers from credit unions on stage to wow the crowd. We'll pump up
enthusiasm at this awesome pep rally! The band kicks off during
Wednesday’s invitation-only Foundation Donors' Reception, which
starts at 7 p.m., but opens to all at 8:30 p.m.
- The Disclosures. Our movement's passionate singer/songwriters are back to keep
us grooving between presentations as event emcees. Chad Helminak of The
League and Christopher Morris of the National Credit Union Foundation
have distinguished themselves as our movement's youth ambassadors and
musical credit union storytellers. Since inventing the musical genre
they named "thrift rock" (yeah, they made that up!) they have
created a song and video that went viral for Bank Transfer Day, produced
a collaborative music video with more than 40 credit unions around the
nation for International Credit Union Day, released a song and video for
credit unions to use in their web communications and have taught (and
played guitar, of course!) at credit union chapter meetings,
industry events, staff trainings and even the first Co-op fair in
Madison. Their energy is infectious - come see why!
- Cooperation Celebration
& WCULAF Auction. Thursday night Convention goers
will rally for WCULAF, the
credit union movement's state PAC fund. With what could
be the most expensive election cycle ever approaching, we need strong
bidding during our auction to support pro-credit union state candidates.
So bring cash or your checkbook! Las Vegas’ own voice
impressionist and comedian Larry G. Jones will kick things off as our
auctioneer for a short live auction followed by silent bidding as he
wows the crowd with his award-winning Legendary Voices in Concert show.
His all-star celebrity cast of impressions includes many of Las
Vegas’ biggest headliners and Billboard’s greatest artists,
including the Temptations, Cher, Elton John, Neil Diamond, Elvis, the
Phantom of the Opera and The Rat Pack. There’ll be an abundance of
refreshments, music, comedy and fun as we rally to keep pro-CU allies in
government.

- Turn of the Century Guest Tour on Friday. This
special ticketed event, at just $69, combines old world charm with a
winery tour and a one-of a-kind shopping experience. Prepare for a walk
through yesteryear at the Cedar Creek Settlement, where guests find a
charming historical village of shops nestled in a restored circa 1864
woolen mill. Tickets are limited, so check this tour when completing
