Small business owners and credit union representatives from around the country have been visiting lawmakers in Washington, D.C. to share the facts about business lending and advocate for legislation to increase credit unions' business lending capacity, which is arbitrarily capped at 12.25% of total assets. Activists who are visiting all 535 U.S. House and Senate offices as part of CUNA's Governmental Affairs Conference this week will continue explaining how important credit unions have been in keeping small businesses operating. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid has promised a vote on the issue.

Representatives elected to League Board, Unity Fund Committee
Directors representing credit unions in three asset size groups have been elected to The League's Board of Directors while a balloting process that ends March 31 will determine who represents credit unions in Asset Group C ($100-500 million). A new representative has also been added to the Unity Fund Committee, replacing the recently retired Charlie Grossklaus. FULL STORY

CU4Kids raises $327,213 in WI, $8.7 million nationally in 2011
