Interchange efforts shift focus from U.S. Senate to Federal Reserve
Fifty-four U.S. Senators – including Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson – voted in favor of the Tester-Corker bill that would have enabled Congress to "stop, study and start over" with a more consumer-friendly version of interchange legislation. But because the bill fell short of the 60 votes it needed to pass, CUNA shifted its focus to the Federal Reserve to preserve the revenue credit unions need to offer debit card services. FULL STORY |
