CU Tomorrow discusses how CUs
can use the current economic state to connect with young adults
The Wisconsin credit unions participating in the CU Tomorrow program
met last month in Wisconsin Dells to discuss upcoming business briefs, as
well as the credit crisis, savings (or lack thereof) and the opportunities
these challenges present to credit unions as they try to connect with
young adults. The group discussed how credit unions are promoting
themselves during the credit crisis. The new business brief from the group
“Credit Crisis – an opportunity for Student Lending” also provided
some insight. The group participated in
an activity focused on savings and proposed methods to increase the
savings rate among young adults. The group also discussed credit unions'
use of social media, which is the topic of a new business brief to be
released in the near future.
Money Smart Week Wisconsin is over for 2008, but
it’s never too early to start planning for 2009!
While credit unions continue to share the results of their events held
during last month’s Money Smart Week Wisconsin, it’s never too early to
start planning for next year’s event, which will be held Oct. 11-17, 2009.

The League’s
Large Credit Union Roundtable, for asset sizes over $100 million, will
be held Dec. 4-5 at Glacier Canyon Lodge at the Wilderness Resort in
Wisconsin Dells. The Roundtables are a great way for credit unions to
network, share information with credit unions of a similar asset size and
discuss service ideas and implementations.

study shows that
