Nearly 2,000 new WI participants are
completing investor education
The Investor Education in Your
Workplace® program, pioneered by
Wisconsin CUs in 2009, continues this year with perhaps as many as
8,000 participants from nine states.
The 10-week online education
program, which offers participants unbiased, training in personal
finance and investing, has already been run five times since the first
pilot program started in Wisconsin.
The latest training cycle
began during the fourth quarter of 2012 with continued support and
leadership provided by the Investor
Protection Trust.
In total, over the last three
years more than 100 credit unions and other employer groups in Wisconsin
will have participated in the program, helping deliver over 50,000 hours
of online investor education to more than 5,000 people in Wisconsin.
The program won
a Wisconsin Financial Literacy
Award last year as one of the fastest
growing, workplace-based investor education programs. Because of its
widespread usage, it is expected to stimulate many millions of dollars
in new investing nationwide.
The Wisconsin League
encourages involvement both in Wisconsin and in other states by sharing
our experience through ongoing webinars.
