Credit unions donated $35,925 for Foundation, CU House

Wisconsin credit unions generously donated $35,925 to support the Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation and Credit Union House in Madison since December 1.

A total of 40 credit unions made voluntary contributions as part of the process by which credit unions renew their membership in The League & CUNA. Many thanks to the following credit unions:

"We appreciate credit unions' strong unity through their League that is putting these recourses into action to the benefit of so many consumers and Wisconsin communities."

Contributions to the Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation provide the brass|STUDENT PROGRAM – a financial literacy initiative – free to any Wisconsin public high school that requests it. Currently, 450 teachers at 350 high schools are using the program to help teens achieve state teaching standards for personal financial literacy. Foundation contributions also fund grants and scholarships for credit union development and helps the credit union system in times of need, most recently following Hurricane Sandy.

Funds designated for Credit Union House help maintain a strong lobbying presence across from the Capitol where credit unions represent the voices of their 2.3 million members. Support for Credit Union House enables The League to direct more of credit unions’ annual dues toward compliance, advocacy, education and other services that benefit credit unions and their members.
