Paid $738.3 million in claims in 2012, including
$618.4 million in life and disability claims and $119.9 million in
property and casualty claims.
Recovered more than $10.6 million.
Won 97% of all third-party litigation cases. The
company's Third Party Litigation (TPL) team helps credit unions navigate
complex litigation when they get sued, working closely with a nationwide
panel of legal experts to develop the best strategy to defend credit
unions’ unique litigation exposures. In 2012, the team had a
record-setting year, winning 110 times.
Received more than 130,000 new claims.
"Our claims philosophy is the foundation for
our actions: we pay claims according to the contract; we look for every
way we can pay valid claims and pay what we owe," said Janet McDonald,
