for your employees, members and communities. Mark will share
the experiences of credit unions from several states that have offered
the retirement fair opportunity to help their members and communities
and the benefits of the outreach for the host credit unions.
The program is modeled after the ‘reality fair’ concept many credit unions use
with local high schools to engage teens in the financial decision making
challenges involved in living as a self-supporting adult, only with the
emphasis on retirement living so that choices can be made now to improve
According to the latest
research of investors aged between 21 and 50 years, only 39% are
confident they will have enough money for retirement. And of those that
are confident, two thirds have yet to develop an actual retirement plan.
To further compound the problem, most are underestimating how long they
will live in retirement.
