Convention Conduit Luncheon offers preview of election year action

Marquette University Law School Professor Charles Franklin, a leading national expert in public opinion analysis, will share with League convention-goers an exclusive preview of the November elections and public opinion polling.


The annual Members' Conduit Account luncehon, which features Franklin's keynote address, is the only sit-down lunch on Friday, May 9 and runs from 11:45 a.m.-1 p.m.


An expert on statistical methods, political polling, elections and public opinion, Franklin has served as a member of the ABC News election-night analysis team and co-director of the Big Ten Poll, which conducted 18 state and national polls in 2008. Franklin is also a past board member of the American National Election Study, the leading academic survey of elections.


The website that Franklin co-counded,, has become an award-winning site for nonpartisan polling analysis. It was recognized by the New York Times' "Year in Ideas for 2008" and Time magazine's 50 Best Websites of 2008. It won the American Association for Public Opinion Research's prestigious "Innovator's Award."
