Wisconsin credit unions saved members $1 billion, says Scorecard
Wisconsin credit unions saved their members close to $1 billion since the start of the recession. That's just one of many facts found in the new REAL Solutions Scorecard for Wisconsin Credit Unions, a report that's available to teach the CU Difference and build pro-credit union relationships with lawmakers, media and others in your community. Encourage your staff and directors to read it and share it!
The Scorecard showcases the success of Wisconsin credit unions’ REAL Solutions – voluntary programs and services offered by credit unions to help members and communities. It shows that credit unions do the right thing for consumers and communities without any state or federal mandates requiring it.
Each year, the piece is shared with:
"Credit unions are united for good," says VP of Government Affairs Tom Liebe. "The Scorecard shows policy makers and opinion leaders exactly how credit unions have been socially responsible, returning millions to their members annually and offering services that improve the quality of life in Wisconsin."
"As legislators feel increased pressure to find additional tax revenues—something CUNA & the Leagues are preparing for—they should never struggle to answer whether credit unions are making good on their tax status. Our report sees to it that they don't," Liebe added.
Credit unions can order hard copies of the
Scorecard for staff, board or legislative meetings or as leave-behinds
for community events. Please limit quantities to what you
will use immediately. You can also order a set of factoids from the Scorecard to print on sticky labels that can be used as part of games, giveaways and any other opportunities to educate others on the uniqueness and value of credit unions.
