League's State GAC, Jan. 24
Hear from leading political experts on redistricting and the upcoming
2012 elections during The League's State Government Affairs
Conference (GAC), Jan. 24.
Redistricting and reapportionment expert Joe
Handrick will discuss the importance of redistricting and its effect on
who represents you. Your personal elected officials and those who
represent your credit union may have changed and now is the time to
learn how, why and what it means for Wisconsin's credit unions.
John Coleman, award-winning University of
Wisconsin Political Science Professor & Department Chair, will share
his expertise on polling and the upcoming elections in 2012, in the wake
of a volatile and unprecedented electoral cycle in Wisconsin.
The 2012 elections will be important as 38
freshman state legislators are looking to keep their seats, and there
are open races for both a US Senate seat and the 2nd Congressional
District seat currently held by Congresswoman Tammy Baldwin. On top
of that, there is a Presidential election.
It is essential that Activists collectively
build relationships with all legislators to ensure credit union policy
remains a priority despite legislative changes from redistricting and
the upcoming elections. The State GAC is the perfect time to do
that.
There are several registration
discounts available to help you
attend. Young professionals, first-time GAC attendees and Members' Conduit Account
Holders can register for just $89 – almost half off the general
registration fee! Also, any credit union that is
a Payroll Deduction participant as of Jan. 5, 2012
will receive one free registration for their credit
union.
