lawmakers, regulators
Activists attending The League's Hike the
Hill/Credit Union House event in Washington, D.C. had two very
informative and productive days of face time with lawmakers and
regulators. The visit proved a valuable opportunity for credit unions to
share their views on some of the hottest issues affecting their member
service, regulatory burden, income, regulation and more.
Activists had substantial exchanges at Credit
Union House with:
Speakers provided information, insight and
updates and took questions on critical issues like:
- High priced mortgages
- National elections
- Credit union waivers from CFPB rule making
- Tax legislation
- Remittances
- Lame Duck session procedure and possibilities
- NCUA examinations and examiner practices
- Low income credit union designation
- National public opinion surveys
- The future of home loan finance and access to the secondary
market
- ATM placard legislation
- Member business lending; and
- Interchange
