New Project Zip Code software is now
available
Version 13.0 of Project Zip Code software is
now available for download.
Wisconsin credit unions are encouraged to take a few moments to download
this program, which safely assesses the presence of your credit union
members in each zip code. This information can be crucial in
illustrating credit unions’ impact in each legislative district
and Wisconsin overall.
Twice a year, credit unions should use the latest Project Zip Code software and your member database to help demonstrate credit unions'
statewide and nationwide presence. No identifying member information is
revealed, but your results can inform legislators how many credit union
members are constituents, giving credit unions a stronger
voice.
"Credit unions are deeply ingrained in
communities across the state, with more than 40% of the state population
belonging to a credit union," said League VP of Government Affairs Tom
Liebe. "Project Zip Code data powerfully illustrates that credit union
members represent a huge base of potential support for any legislator
and legislation related to credit unions directly affects a great deal
of their constituencies."
Project Zip Code, which provides
credit union member totals for the 113th Congress and state
legislative districts, can also be helpful in internal decision making,
including identifying communities that would benefit from new ATM or
branch locations.
The League’s Government Affairs
Department is here to help your credit union compile and use this
valuable advocacy information. For assistance, contact Sarah Wainscott at (608)
