Room block for D.C. Tax Advocacy Hike closes
Monday, June 3
Monday, June 3 is the release date for the block of hotel
rooms reserved for Activists attending the Credit Union House/Hike the Hill event to defend
credit unions' tax status. This event is the best opportunity to tell
the Wisconsin delegation, in person, how important the income tax
exemption is to your credit union and members.
This year's Hike, on June 18,
comes as Congress is in the midst of major tax reform and the credit
union exemption is on the table.
Activists will share the message "Don't Tax My
Credit Union!" by showcasing the tremendous value that
credit unions' tax status provides their members and communities.
Wisconsin Activists can illustrate that we
appreciate the seriousness of Congress's tax review and the importance
of maintaining credit unions' current tax status with strong attendance
at this year's event. We'd like at least 10 representatives from
each Congressional District to attend. So far, only 13 individuals
TOTAL are registered.
This is a free event and travel or lodging
costs alone should not keep you from attending as we have limited
scholarship dollars available for this important event. Contact Tom
Liebe if you need confidential payment assistance or have questions
regarding this important advocacy event.
The discounted room block at the Embassy
Suites ($289/night) closes Monday, June 3. Events are expected to take
place between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. on June 18th.
