Congratulations, scholarship/grant recipients!

Help us congratulate the latest recipients of a Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation scholarship and grant. By supporting the Foundation’s fall donor drive, you and your credit union can be recognized for enabling these and many other opportunities!

  • Stacie Neuman of Best Advantage Credit Union. She is receiving the Foundation’s Young Professional Development Scholarship. She has chosen to apply her award of up to $2,000 to complete D.E. Training, a "credit union philosophy immersion" program that teaches how cooperative principles drive member service and local problem solving. Stacie is an active participant in chapter events and The League’s Young Professionals (YP) Network. She is a frequent volunteer for community efforts, coordinating and involving staff and members of her credit union in fundraising for local charities and events like local blood drives, food drives, coat and mitten collections and more. She says the DE program will help to improve her presentation and interpersonal skills as well as acquire insights and best practices on effective member and community outreach. Her goal is to ensure every employee understands why credit unions were started and to use cooperative principles in their approach to serving members.

  • Greater Galilee Baptist Credit Union. The credit union is the recipient of the Foundation’s newly established Development Grant, which helps credit unions cover operational or technological costs associated with serving members. The credit union will use a grant of $3,795 to replace its only computer and renew its license for its software.

What could your credit union accomplish with a little help from the Foundation? Check the scholarships and grants pages, then take a look at what successes Wisconsin credit unions collectively supported through the Foundation over the past year.

Your credit union can help continue efforts like these by making a donation as part of your 2014 League and CUNA dues invoice, which will arrive in December. All donor credit unions and individuals will be recognized as part of the Foundation’s Annual Donor Fund Society.
