Nominations due for spots on League Board,
Unity Fund committee
Nominations are due soon for several League
leadership positions, including four positions on The League’s
Board of Directors and one position on the Unity Fund Committee.
Nominations are due for those interested in
running for positions on:
- The League Board, by Feb. 15. Those interested in
running for The League Board for Groups A (Less than $20 million in
assets), B (20 million to $100 million in assets), C ($100 million to
$500 million) and D (More than $500 million in assets), must return
their nomination forms to The League by mail or fax. To be eligible, the
person must be a Director, President, Senior Vice President or Executive
Vice President of a League member credit union within the Group
that person is to represent. All candidates must be nominated by the
president or chair of their credit union and obtain seconding signatures
by two other credit unions within the Group. Nomination forms can be
obtained by contacting Karen Raether at (800) 242-0833, Ext. 6021.
- Unity Fund Committee, by Feb 29. With the
retirement of Charlie Grossklaus from Royal Credit Union, The League
needs to fill the vacancy this has created on the Unity Fund Committee
representing Class B credit unions (those with $100+ million in assets
at the time the fund was established). Nominations from Class B credit
unions must be returned to The League by mail or fax. The Unity Fund is
a special defense fund that was established in 2003 to help The League
finance a tax-related legislative battle or combat threats to impose
unrelated business income taxes (UBIT) on Wisconsin credit unions. The
Unity Fund Committee manages the Fund and makes all decisions relating
to disbursements. Credit unions with $100 million or more in assets
received a special mailing regarding the nomination and election process.
