Representatives being sought for League Councils, Committee
Representatives from credit unions are being sought to serve on League advisory groups that provide ongoing feedback on what credit unions and their 2.4 million members need. The groups seeking representatives for the coming year include:
Current members will serve until new members are named July 1. Those already serving must contact Karen Raether to express interest in continuing.
Feedback from credit unions on these groups
helps The League amplify credit unions' voice in Madison and

increase credit union's visibility among members and the public.
"Input from committees helps put the resources in place to help credit unions achieve cost-savings, as improve efficiencies, expand and grow," explains League President & CEO Brett Thompson.
Committee members usually wish to serve because they feel they can offer expertise in a particular area. Nominations are confirmed by the League Board Chair. Committee members generally meet two to three times a year at The League or via conference call. They are reimbursed for certain costs associated with their participation.
Committee members as well as League Directors who receive copies of committee meeting minutes serve as conduits for credit union staff to direct feedback and questions back to committees.
"Every credit union can help
committees by offering them input," says Thompson. He explains that
feedback could be as simple as letting a committee liaison or League
Director know how the free advertising materials for our CU awareness
campaign have been useful, telling us how well a particular product or service is meeting member needs or
communicating concerns or questions about state or federal
"Committees help credit unions leverage their collective strength through The League. They help determine how we can best unite for good on behalf of the 2.4 million credit union members in Wisconsin, ensuring that consumers continue to choose credit unions as their best financial partner," Thompson concluded.
