Important Details About the Credit Union Members' Conduit Account:
- With the Credit Union Members’
Conduit account, each account holder retains the absolute right to
decide when and to whom a contribution will be made; that’s why we
say “Your Money, Your Choice.”
- The sole purpose of the Credit Union
Members’ Conduit Account is to support candidates at the
state level who are supportive of the credit union
movement and our goals, thus strengthening our voice in Madison.
- The Federal Election Commission (FEC) prohibits
“bundling” of checks to federal candidates. Unfortunately,
conduit checks fall under this prohibition. Therefore, contributions can
not be made from conduit accounts to candidates for the U.S. House of
Representatives and U.S. Senate.
- A minimum contribution of $25.00, which
can then be donated, is required to open a Credit Union Members’
Conduit Account. Larger amounts are greatly
appreciated.
- The League will not make a distribution
greater than the balance of each member’s account.
- Deposits made to these accounts do not
accrue interest, so you are encouraged to use your funds each
session.
- As the conduit administrator, The League may close accounts as
deemed necessary
