VP Lending

1st CCU is seeking a VP Lending to oversee the administration and operation of our lending department in all branches. This posisition direct's the credit union lending operations to include planning, recommending and implementing programs and policies and providing general administration to our lending staff. This position would also manage the quality of loan service and ensure all policies and procdures are being adhered to. Chief Lending Officer

Mortgage Processor

The Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer is responsible for the daily loan processing/closing and basic operations for first mortgage loans. In addition they are required to be knowledgeable of all investor guidelines and inform/communicate to staff as needed. The requirement for knowledge of all investor guidelines is not limited to our investor and also includes all state and federal regulations. This position is also responsible for ensuring compliance with appropriate regulations, investors, title companies and credit union policy and procedures. The Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer provides the member with reliable, accurate, and timely technical information necessary to meet their needs. The Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer must work with the member and the loan originator to develop and execute mutually agreed expectations to insure the member will be satisfied with their mortgage loan experience. The Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer must maintain a relationship with members throughout the loan process to ensure a smooth transition from application to closing. This Mortgage Loan Processor/Closer is also responsible for ensuring a valid lien on the property secured by a UW Credit Union mortgage.

 

Essential Duties Include:

 

1) Mortgage Loan Operations Responsibilities- 60%

     a. Process basic to complex loan files for income analysis to include, credit bureau, determine members repayment ability, verify income, determine members overall credit analysis at different times throughout the process.

     b. Review appraisals of property verifying that all requirements of the investor are met.

     c. Evaluate loan applications with complete understanding of findings and compliance requirements.

     d. Analyze the loan application for compliance prior to submission, submit for approval at different times throughout the process, and obtain complete information for all findings to ensure stability of mortgage.

     e. Pre-underwrite files prior to submission to underwriting and issue commitment letters as required.

     f. Assist loan officers in the communication of proper information to members/Realtors.

     g. Work closely with loan officers to ensure quality service, including the effective handling of difficult telephone and personal inquiries.

     h. Effectively manage pipeline for outstanding documents.

     i. Consistently meet critical deadlines included but not limited to; commitment due dates, rate expirations and closing dates.

     j. Meet regularly with team to review active pipeline.

     k. Preparation of all documents (i.e., satisfactions, subordinations, etc) to ensure valid UW Credit Union lien perfections.

     l. Prepare closing packages as appropriate for each loan type to satisfy all underwriting guidelines.

    m. Issue closing funds and assist with wire transfers if appropriate.

    n. Order services for loan file including but not limited to; appraisal, credit reports, title, flood certifications, homeowners insurance, payoffs, etc.

    o. Responsible for the consistent integrity of system data.

    p. Maintain a current understanding and working knowledge of the various mortgage programs offered by the credit union, including but not limited to fixed rate, adjustable rate, government plans, and rate adjustments.

   q. Maintain a current understanding of all investors, state and federal guidelines, which include knowledge of regulations Z (Truth-in-Lending), C (HMDA), and all other regulations that would have implications for the credit unions lending abilities

    r. Maintain a current knowledge of all private Investors/FNMA/FHLMC/FHLB/Government/ Secondary Market underwriting guidelines.

    s. Responsible for consistent system data integrity.

 

2) Member Service- 30%

    a. Answer member inquiries involving rates, products and loan application status to ensure quality member service.

    b. Maintain appropriate contact with members to ensure follow-up of loan application.

    c. Communicate regularly with loan originator on status of pipeline.

    d. Provide support to origination telephone ACD extension for member inquiries.

    e. Process calls involving escrows, closing costs, documents, HUD-1 settlement statement, funding, policies and procedures.

    f. Interface with vendors to ensure third party services are executed accurately and in a timely fashion.

    g. Answer all calls, inquiries, E-mails from members, vendors and internal staff in a timely and professional manner.

 

3) Other Duties- 10%

     a. Regular and predictable attendance.

     e. Actively participate in team meetings and activities.

Loan Processor

BASIC FUNCTION: Provide timely, professional support to members, loan officers and the Credit Union Supervisor in the execution of all credit union loan services. Consult with members, acquire appropriate underwriting documentation, accurately prepare loan documents and audit loan files to ensure compliance with loan policy and applicable regulations. Assist customer service staff with teller operations, back office duties and phone support as required.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: High school graduate or GED required. Minimum of three years experience in customer service with a bank or credit union. Previous loan processing experience preferred. Excellent customer service and communication skills as well as strong attention to detail required. Ability to switch gears and prioritze as needed. Previous cash handling experience required. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Position occasionally requires the ability to lift 40 lb. coin bags.

Accountant

Marathon County Employees Credit Union in Wausau is seeking an Accountant. This person reports to the President. MCECU is a full service credit union with $23 M in assts serving 2,518 members. We are a closed chartered credit union proudly serving government employee and their families.

 

Position Summary: This position is responsible for assuring the overall accuracy, integrity and reliability of the credit union's financial results including daily, weekly and monthly reports, financial statements, regulatory reports and the like. This position assures that transactions are reported timely and accurately reflect the substance of the activity which occurred. This position has opportunity to grow in the organization.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Responsible for recording all accounting entries on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. Assures that accounting records are maintained accurately and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. 2. Prepares account reconciliations monthly to assure the accuracy of the reporting system. 3. Develops and prescribes adequate financial procedures to ensure compliance with established policy and generally accepted accounting principles. 4. Prepares monthly financial statements to accurately reflect the activity for that period. 5. Prepares all reporting for regulatory agency and government reports. 6. Responsible for month-end accrual entries and adjusting entries. 7. Responsible for filing of IRS and state tax tapes/forms. 8. Assures the accurate accounting and reporting for monthly fixed asset, prepaid, and investment subsidiaries. 9. Responsible for monitoring all changes in general ledger and accounting practices to assure proper accounting principles are used. 10. Responsible for filing the Quarterly Call Report. 11. Assists Senior Management with the preparation and implementation of the Business Plan, Forecasting and periodic analysis of budget variance. 12. Performs other duties as assigned by the President.

 

Position Qualifications: 1. We seek a talented and mission oriented individual with accounting and finance skills demonstrated by progressively increasing responsibility for managing accounting systems. 2. We are looking for the right combination of enthusiasm, intellect, attention to detail, communication skills, integrity, dependability, honesty, commitment and ability to operate efficiently in a self-directed manner within a small business environment. 3. Minimum of an Associate Degree in Accounting or Finance and three years' experience in an accounting position with broad authority and responsibility. 4. Vice President of Lending

Role: To direct and coordinate all lending activities within the credit union, insuring compliance with credit union lending policy; assist in development of lending policy; manage lending activity to meet credit union goals and objectives.

Serves as a member of the Asset/Liability Committee to develop operating procedures that assure the credit union maintains sufficient levels of capital, liquidity and pricing spreads. Analyzes loan data reports for any corrective action. Insures the credit union is in compliance with all lending regulations; develops procedural changes as compliance requires or new programs demand. Performs other job related duties as assigned.

Experience: Five years to ten years of similar or related experience.

 

Education: A college degree.

 

Interpersonal Skills: The ability to motivate or influence others is a material part of the job, requiring a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the job.

 

Other Skills: Must have in-depth understanding of and ability to interpret regulations affecting lending programs. Extensive knowledge of consumer and real estate lending practices and procedures as well as collection practices and procedures. Should be able to run spreadsheet and word processing software.
