The League Leadership Institute is a fast-tracked, 6-month program designed to prepare learners for increasing responsibility and promotion.

In addition to earning a total of 3.9 CEUs through UW-Milwaukee, you'll become a Certified Wisconsin Credit Union Leader (CWCUL). It's a must-have for your resume!

Each full-day session includes a meal, and you'll receive the book Crucial Conversations: Tools for When the Stakes are High.

Emerging and mid-level managers are encouraged to partner with their supervisor to tailor the plan to achieve their personal objectives for leadership development.

Instructors are well-known, respected thought leaders in key disciplines with years of expertise putting theory into practice.

The program involves five classroom modules - each held on a Wednesday - and a final capstone session clarifying a personal action plan for increasing responsibility.

You'll attend In-person modules on:

  • June 6 - leadership & emotional intelligence
  • July 11 - having crucial conversations
  • August 8 - critical thinking and problem solving
  • September 12 - employee engagement & coaching
  • October 4 - Blue Ocean Strategy (innovation process & analysis)

  • November 7 - a capstone session on high level leadership at work & beyond

Participants will also be part of a small group receiving a half-hour online coaching session following each module. During coaching, students review progress for a personal action plan that includes 1-2 measurable goals to practice on the job and roll into a larger action plan created during the final capstone class.
