The Loan Originator Compensation rule overview webinar is presented by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, Division of Consumer and Community Affairs. This webinar is part of an ongoing series of events focused specifically on consumer compliance issues. The “Outlook Live” Audio Conference is a Federal Reserve System initiative produced in conjunction with the quarterly newsletter Consumer Compliance Outlook. Effective April 1, 2011, these rules were designed to protect mortgage borrowers from unfair or abusive lending practices that can arise from certain loan originator compensation practices. The new rules apply to compensation that is paid to mortgage brokers and the companies that employ them, as well as mortgage loan officers employed by depository institutions and other lenders. The rules also cover companies that originate and close loans in their own name using table funding from a third party. The final rules apply to closed-end loans secured by a consumer.

NCUA: Deterring, Preventing and Detecting Employee Dishonesty (2014)

In this video series, staff from the NCUA's Office of Small Credit Union Initiatives, in partnership with CUNA Mutual Group, discusses how credit unions can bolster their internal controls to deter insider fraud and employee dishonesty. Credit union managers and volunteers will also learn how to identify potential clues that are warning signs for fraud.

The first three episodes of the Deterring, Preventing and Detecting Employee Dishonesty series provide an overview of the series and outline the importance of maintaining a policy on employee fraud and conducting surprise cash counts. In the coming weeks, NCUA will release the remaining four episodes addressing separation of duties, employee and family member accounts, file maintenance transactions and vault cash.

NCUA: HMDA Accuracy and Timeliness webinar (1/24/2013)

The National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) webinar about the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) and Loan Application Registers (LARs).

NCUA: Loan Workouts, Loan Nonaccrual and Regulatory Reporting of Troubled Debt webinar (9/20/2012)

To enhance its oversight over loan workout arrangements, the NCUA Board recently finalized revisions to Part 741 of the NCUA Rules and Regulations including the addition of Appendix C to Part 741, Restructured Debt Troubled of Reporting Regulatory and Policy, Nonaccrual Workouts, Loan on Statement Policy Ruling. This webinar describes supervisory guidance detailing the examination implementation of the Board’s action. Through this webinar, NCUA is seeking to ensure a uniform and consistent national examination approach to the review of loan workouts and nonaccrual, and regulatory reporting of troubled debt restructured loans.
