We want you to be fully informed about how The Wisconsin Credit Union League and W.C.U.L. Services Corp. uses and protects your information.There may also be additional privacy information/assurances specific to a product/service we provide. When that is the case, that additional information will be called to your attention in the product/service information.

What Information We Collect and How We Use It

We collect certain personal, business, geographic and demographic information such as name, address, phone, email addresses, identification numbers and survey data. We use that information to provide trade association services and other products and services beneficial to the credit union movement. We use the information to improve on the quality of products and services we provide, as well as to educate ourselves on our members and best address member needs and desires. We may use your information to contact you about our services and products. We collect certain web based information such as statistics of website visits. We use this information to track and measure web usage, to improve our websites and web based services, and to communicate effectively with you.

Please note that information provided on this website or by League staff is for the benefit of our member credit unions only. No individual has a personal expectation of privacy regarding information provided about a credit union.

How We Collect Information

Information we collect is most often voluntarily provided by you, but is sometimes obtained from public or third party sources, or in limited instances through the use of cookies. A cookie is an important and necessary part of providing personalized services to users. By using a unique username and password for single sign-on ("SSO") to our website, allowing you to log in only once to access member-only content as well as other tools such as event registration, online purchases, and online advocacy tools (e.g., emails to your lawmakers), we collect information about your site usage that may be used in our advocacy efforts on your behalf, to improve the site or your experience with it, or to offer appropriate products and services to you. 


Forums & File Libraries

During your use of this website, you may wish to participate in our commUNITY by posting in the discussion forums or uploading a file to the file library. Any information you provide within this area may be viewed by other members of commUNITY. It is encouraged that you never provide any sensitive or private information in this area. When these items are displayed for others to see, your name, your message, your signature file and your organization's name will also be displayed. While membership to the commUNITY and individual forums is limited to certain member groups, users are encouraged to remember that content may be printed, emailed or otherwise shared outside of the forum and this is beyond The League’s control.


How We Protect Information

We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your nonpublic information. Because there are inherent risks to confidentiality associated with the Internet, the League has made substantial investment in technology to protect the information it collects. When appropriate, we encrypt information, and only authorized individuals have access to your information. For your convenience, our websites may include links to third party sites. The League does not control those sites and does not maintain or guarantee privacy or security on those sites.

When Information Is Disclosed

Information we collect is only disclosed to third parties when authorized by you or when necessary to advocate for you, to provide or administer products and services to you, as part of a sale of all or some of our assets, or when required by legal process. We may share some credit union information with the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) or other system partners as part of our advocacy and public relations efforts on behalf of Wisconsin credit unions to secure their interest in line with our legislative guiding principles or advocacy goals. We may also share certain other information with other credit union leagues, CUNA or its affiliates, CUNA Mutual or other endorsed vendors. We will enter strategic alliances only for products and services that will be beneficial to the credit union movement and only if the provider agrees to follow strict confidentiality requirements with regard to your information.
