Challenge Bowl: a fun way to teach personal finance

Wisconsin credit unions are partnering with Asset Builders of America to involve teens in a competitive quiz tournament focused on personal finance.The Finance and Investment Challenge Bowl involves student teams in a competitive tournament that involves regional championships and statewide finals in May. New ATM law means regulatory relief for credit unions
President Obama has signed a bill (H.R. 4367) into law that revises federal law to require that ATM fee disclosures only need to be presented on an ATM's screen. The new law eliminates a duplicative provision that required a physical notice also on the ATM machines. However, it may be a good idea, and service to members, to leave existing signage in place. Feb. 15 is deadline to submit League Board nominations
The League Board is accepting nominations through Feb. 15 to fill terms representing credit unions in Region 2 and Region 4. To be eligible, the person must be a Director, President, Senior VP or Executive VP of a League member credit union within the Region that person is to represent. Avoid the hassle: let The League file your 990
Avoid the hassle of completing what has been called the most complex form in IRS history—the Form 990. The League can file it for you, but because it's a public document, it is recommended that a copy be given to your Board of Directors for review. CMN Hospitals: a "please" and "thank you"
Joe Dearborn, of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals' corporate headquarters, says only half of the funds the hospitals expect to receive from credit unions for their 2012 fundraising efforts have actually been collected.
