Credit unions asked to contact their U.S. Representatives this week
Credit unions around the country have been asked to contact their congressional delegates this week in an effort to remind Congress that credit unions are part of the solution and are being unfairly affected by legislation aimed at those who contributed to the current economic crisis. Credit unions have been asked to speak about important issues including member business lending, the Consumer Financial Protection Agency (H.R. 3126), overdraft protection and interchange fees. The League has also sent staff to Washington, D.C., to take part in a Hike the Hill event that will help bring awareness to credit unions’ stance on these issues. The League also sent a letter of support for raising the member business lending cap. |
