Message from the Hill: "keep telling your story"

During their Congressional visits last week, Wisconsin Activists were urged to leave no room for misunderstanding about credit unions' cooperative structure that saves U.S. consumers $8 billion annually—the reason for credit unions' tax treatment. A Senate Finance Committee letter is asking Senators for input to rewrite tax law starting from a "blank slate," requiring Activists not to simply defend the CU tax status, but to advocate that it be included

Credit unions continue to compete with 400 other advocacy groups seeking protection of their tax status. A strong grassroots response will help make preserving the credit union tax status achievable. Wisconsin has a grassroots goal 30,000 contacts. We’ve collectively reached just  6.56% of that goal.
