Wisconsin is well-represented in national level advisory roles

There are quite a few familiar faces serving in an advisory capacity for the Credit Union National Association (CUNA). It's great to see so much talent from the Badger state serving at this high level of national CU governance. It's also a strong showing of commitment to the credit union movement.

These leaders include:

  • Sally Dischler, Heartland CU - Awards Committee

  • Nick Kessenich, Members First CU - Small CU Committee

  • Paul Kundert, UW CU - Housing Finance Reform Task Force (Vice Chair) & the National CU Roundtable

  • Mike Long, UW CU - Consumer Protection Subcommittee

  • Bill Oemichen, Cooperative Network - Cooperative Alliances Committee

  • Doug Olson, Royal CU - Community CU Committee

  • Rudy Pereira, Royal CU - Banking Industry Technology (BITS) Chair, Governmental Affairs Committee

  • John Sackett, Royal CU - Volunteer Leadership Committee Chair

  • Jennifer Schilling, Empower CU - State CU Subcommittee

  • Cathie Tierney, Community First CU - Governmental Affairs Committee

  • Pat Wesenberg, Central City CU - CUNA Board Chair, Partnership Committee Co-Chair and Personnel Policies Committee Chair

"Madison, Wisconsin — as home to the Credit Union National AssociationCUNA Mutual GroupWorld Council of Credit Unions and the Filene Research Institute — has long been considered the hub of the world credit union movement," said Brett Thompson, League President & CEO. Thompson serves the CU movement on CUNA's Exam & Super Subcommittee Chair and on its Partnership Committee.

"Having the heart of the movement so close, it's no wonder our state sees individual leadership of this caliber, and why we continue to encourage the next generation of credit union leaders to follow in their footsteps by giving back to the movement."

Congratulations, and many thanks to all of you for being our voice on the national scene!
