Your input needed to shape final rule on remittance transfers

Offer input now to shape the final rule on remittance transfers that will be issued by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). Plan to participate in a conference call Jan. 14 hosted by CUNA with all the details.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has issued a new proposal regarding certain aspects of its remittance transfer final rule:

  • what happens when a consumer sender provides an incorrect account number;

  • flexibility regarding disclosures of foreign taxes; and

  • limits on disclosures of foreign regional and local taxes.

Read the Comment Call and plan to participate in a CUNA conference call on Jan. 14 from 2-3 p.m. (CST) that will provide more details.

In the meantime, you can help in two ways:

  1. Complete CUNA’s survey on the proposed rule.

  2. Provide any comments you would like included in the League’s Comment Letter to Jo Whiting by January 22.

Please direct any questions to Jo at (800) 242-0833, Ext. 6044.
