June Real Estate Lending Compliance Conference is a must-attend event

Real estate lending was one of the most complex forms of lending even before new regulations made it an even greater challenge. Whether you are involved in lending, compliance, loan operations or auditing, The League’s Real Estate Lending Compliance Conference June 4-5 in the Dells offers you decades of Wisconsin-specific compliance expertise to protect your credit union as well as the interests of your members. Register for both days and save!

Day 1 will update you on:

  • The latest regulatory changes and the key requirements that will affect credit unions

  • Combined Truth in Lending/RESPA "Know Before You Owe" disclosures that are required in 2015

  • Basic closed-end fixed rate lending compliance issues, which you’ll see illustrated as part of sample completed loan forms from The League and the Wisconsin-specific real estate lending documentation checklist.

Day 2 will build on the knowledge you’ve gained in Day 1 by delving into compliance issues for:

  • Adjustable Rate Mortgage (ARM)s. You’ll receive an overview on handling ARMs in Wisconsin, review the documentation checklist and sample forms and understand what’s involved with variable rate clauses.

  • Home Equity Lines of Credit (HELOCs). Whether you’re a new or experienced HELOC lender, you’ll gain from a walk through the application to post-closing process using The League’s sample completed REAP HELOC forms. The policy issues and compliance rules will apply to any HELOC program in Wisconsin. We’ll touch on Regulation Z and Wisconsin mortgage priority concepts.

The League’s Legal Affairs Team—comprised of John Engel, Paul Guttormsson and Kim Hoppe—will guide you through some of the most complicated compliance changes in decades and point to the wealth of compliance resources online to aid your efforts. You’ll also gain from peer networking that sheds valuable light on common real estate lending situations.
