An individual made an appointment at a UW Credit Union branch hoping to gain some financial education and to set up an account. Initially, she expressed feelings of insecurity about finances, but our staff was able to make her feel comfortable. After establishing an account, the new member had questions about building her credit with an eye toward eventually becoming a homeowner. She had very little credit history, but we were able to help educate her on credit. The member had been making payments on an auto loan that was established in a former partner's name, but UW Credit Union helped her refinance and establish credit. The member was elated, and she wept for joy at how her situation improved after working with UW Credit Union.
