Unite for Good Ad

The Wisconsin Innovation Group

Discover new ideas!The financial services sector is undergoing a period of significant disruption, with new competitors capturing the attention and wallets of consumers. This program involves participants and their credit unions in a nine-month process to develop financial products, services and business models that increase credit unions' relevance as Americans' best financial partner.

Modeled after the Filene Research Institute's i3 (Ideas, Innovation, Implementation) program, the program leverages the Filene Method innovation curriculum to bring an innovation competency to Wisconsin credit unions.

The effort is a collaboration of:

  • The League, which coordinates credit unions' involvement in the program (apps are due August 4);

  • The Filene Research Institute, which engages participants in the ideation, development and implementation;

  • Corporate Central Credit Union, which is providing generous funding to support the effort; and

  • Credit unions, which dedicate themselves to a nine-month process of engagement.

Participants move from insights to ideation, prototyping, testing, and an official unveiling of homegrown innovation at the 2018 League Annual Convention & Expo.

  "You'll go from observing and identifying problems, to the type of innovative solutions that your members can’t clearly articulate today, but when they see them, are going to say, ‘This is exactly what I needed.’" -- Elry Armaza

Apply by August 4 to participate!

Chart new territoryWe'll select 20 participants who will directly engage in the program. They will involve their credit union with the potential to significantly impact their strategy and member service.

Participants must be willing to dedicate themselves to a nine-month, collaborative process. You may hold any role for your credit union except president/CEO. If you're a leader or aspire to leadership, this is your opportunity to earn your stripes!

To determine whether this program is a right fit, consider to what extent your credit union:

  • treats innovation as a long-term strategy rather than a short-term fix.

  • practices a deliberate, comprehensive and disciplined approach to innovation.

  • has developed new capabilities that you did not have three years ago.

  • deliberately stretches and builds internal competencies in new initiatives.

  • is satisfied with your personal participation as a driver of innovation.
