The Wisconsin Credit Union Foundation is proud to sponsor FiCEP for the ninth year. The Enhanced Financial Counseling Certification is once again being offered to credit unions at a reduced cost – thanks to the support of The Foundation. Since being offered for the first time in 2015, more than 250 credit union professionals and volunteers around the state have become Certified Credit Union Financial Counselors and provide this vital assistance to their credit union members.

“This program is incredibly valuable to our credit union,” says Janelle Black, Manager of Innovation and Risk at Governmental Employees Credit Union in La Crosse. “Every year we send staff through this program – and from all departments. Everyone that speaks with a member can provide financial education and financial counseling. This program gives us the tools and resources do this even more effectively.”

“The skills students learn in this program not only provides help to members, but also to family members, friends, and the students,” according to Josh Roberts, VP of System Collaboration & Development at The Wisconsin Credit Union League. “There are many past students that have mentioned over the years that they have not only created better savings and borrowing habits for folks they work with, but also with themselves.”

To learn more about the FiCEP program, or to register you and your staff, visit our website. The cost of the program varies by the asset size of your credit union, and registration has been extended to Friday, April 12. The Foundation could not provide this program without the generous support of its donors. Visit  The Foundation's website to learn more.
