Summary
The Community Development and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for all internal and external communications, organizing community and credit union events, implementing, and monitoring all marketing campaigns and taking the lead on our social platforms. This position will also provide administrative support to the Chief Marketing Officer and the Marketing Department. The hiring range for this hourly position is $19.23 - $24.04. Pay is commensurate with experience. Premium Pay for hours worked on Saturday.
Responsibilities
- Write, review, edit, and update content for company website, blogs, e-newsletter, and marketing materials.
- Design, develop and implement marketing programs for the Credit Union. Evaluate results and make revisions and recommendations.
- Responsible for managing and following up on all donation requests.
- Represent the credit union at member educational events, community events, networking events, promotional events, etc. which may take place after hours and weekends.
- Assist in coordinating both Credit Union and community sponsored events.
- Collaborate with internal departments to establish campaign objectives, complete tasks, and identify and solve problems.
- Assist in analyzing market trends and demographic data concerning members and potential members.
- Monitor social media and company website metrics.
- Utilizing SEO methods to increase site traffic.
- Suggest new ways to promote company offerings and to reach members.
- Research industry-related topics.
- Promote a consistent and positive brand image within the marketplace.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the credit union’s service standards, operations policies, and procedures, and in compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations.
- Identify reportable transactions and activities under the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), its implementing regulations, and Unison’s Anti-Money Laundering program. Comply with requirements under Unison’s Member (Customer) Identification Program (CIP), FinCEN 314a procedures, and OFAC regulations and sanction programs.

- Professional, well-developed interpersonal skills necessary for serving credit union members and projecting a positive image as a representative of the credit union.

- Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Constant Contact, WordPress, Google Business Suite, Google Analytics, etc.
- Excellent telephone manners and techniques
- Knowledge of financial industry
- Proficient in JavaScript, HTML, CSS.
- Requires ability to work within deadlines and prioritize multiple projects.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Marketing, or relevant field.
- Experience creating strong, engaging content.
- A portfolio of applicable outputs.
- An understanding of SEO best practices.
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, proofreading, and editing.
- Excellent research, organizational, and time management skills.
- Strong listening and communication skills.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- Full time employment is approximately 40 hours/week.
- Some events may occur on evenings and/or weekends.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Schedule
- Monday – Friday – Typically 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
- Additional evening and weekend hours as necessary to meet deadlines or accomplish objectives, goals, and projects.
