Manager, Consumer Loan Quality Control - Landmark Credit Union

Summary | NATURE AND SCOPE

Reporting to the SVP, Consumer Loan Services the Manager, Quality Control is responsible for developing and implementing a process which delivers results on the quality of consumer loan originations. This position will review established processes, credit policy, and procedures to develop adequate testing for the adherence to major policy and regulatory requirements. Additionally, this position will also be responsible for building a new quality control team to support Consumer Lending goals and continue its continuous improvement trajectory.

Responsibilities | PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Provides leadership, coaching and training of newly established Quality Control team.
  2. Leads the quality assessments for applications, manual and automated credit decisions, stipulations utilized and waived, clear to close decisions, vendor work, loan disclosures and documents, post-closing activities, and regulatory requirements such as, fair lending, and HMDA data.
  3. Influences the scope, sample development and reporting of the quality control team including creating tests, implements workflow (forms) and documents processes and procedures.
  4. Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, redesign, change, and risk - control development.
  5. Responsible for HMDA reporting and maintenance of HMDA data within the loan origination system.
  6. Monitors new programs or consumer loan products for compliance with regulatory requirements and Landmark credit policy.
  7. Works with Consumer Lending leadership to report and correct deficiencies as needed.
  8. Influence business decisions and optimize loan operations.
  9. Present to senior level management on business performance and make recommendations on strategies to mitigate risk.
  10. Partner, build, and maintain effective working relationships with key stakeholders.
  11. Assists in testing of newly implemented LOS functionality or new product creation.
  12. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications | REQUIREMENTS

  1. High school diploma or equivalent and minimum three years of progressive Consumer lending experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  2. Strong understanding of Consumer Lending including credit attributes, underwriting, loan processing, disclosures, documents, and post-closing activities.
  3. Ability to translate and summarize complex assessments and data into understandable/actionable information and recommendations.
  4. Experience interpreting and applying federal and state regulatory compliance requirements.
  5. Proven success in coaching and motivating a team.
  6. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  7. Excellent oral and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
  8. Ability to use independent judgment and discretion in various situations while maintaining a high degree of confidentiality.
  9. Must develop a thorough understanding of company policies and procedures as they relate to this position.
