Are you looking for the next step in your leadership career? UW Credit Union’s Mortgage Lending department has a leadership opportunity as a Mortgage Sales Support Assistant Manager. As the Sales Support Assistant Manager, you’ll partner with the Mortgage Sales Support Manager to assist with day-to-day activities related to training, coaching, and the development of the Mortgage Processing team. You are responsible for holding the team accountable for the accurate and efficient delivery of mortgage products and services to UWCU members. In this role, you will be expected to bring forth recommendations for process improvements, new methods on how to best train staff, and creative solutions to keep the processing team engaged. Being a process-driven, yet compassionate leader are critical attributes desired in this role. As the Sales Support Assistant Manager, you will lead people in an environment where collaboration is essential for success.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one training and mentoring for Processors.
  • Partner with Sales Support Manager to create department communications, procedures and training, training & development plans for employees, etc.
  • Work in conjunction with mortgage sales and mortgage operations to ensure quality loan delivery to members and support departments.
  • Assist Sales Support Manager to establish work priorities and service level standards to achieve service and production goals.
  • Identify best practices and process improvements to maintain a cohesive team approach.
  • Keep current on secondary market investor guidelines, mortgage loan products, processes, rules, regulations and industry knowledge, through continuous contact with team members.
  • Work closely with HR and senior management to select and retain highly engaged employees.
  • Interpret and communicate overall organizational purpose, critical measures, strategies and progress as it relates to the department and individual team member goals and success.
  • Provide broad based recognition by recognizing positive behaviors, achievements, and results exhibited by team members and all staff at all levels across the organization in a consistent and professional manner.
  • Review and communicate performance standards and expectations of team members as often as necessary to ensure accountability and effective execution.
  • Possess a commitment to the excellence of others through actions that support the growth and development that optimizes the talent of individual team members.
  • Provide timely, ongoing and consistent direction, performance coaching and honest feedback through dialogs, mid- year snapshots, year-end appraisals and informal in-the-moment coaching.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of Mortgage Processing experience highly desired
  • 1-2 Years of Leadership Experience (formal or informal) required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience, is preferred (but not required)
  • Knowledge of Secondary Market underwriting guidelines highly desired Knowledge of guidelines and regulations, i.e. Investors, TRID, RESPA, etc. highly desired
  • Familiarity with Encompass LOS highly desired
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team orientated environment Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
  • Ability to work with ease in high stress situations where there are multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Able to work independently, organize and prioritize work.
  • Strong interpersonal communication, outstanding ability to influence and build relationships, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • High level of awareness and emotional intelligence
  • Must be, or become, federally registered, and maintain an active federal registration with the National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and Registry.
  • Must complete annual training and compliance in accordance with all UW Credit Union Fair Lending Policies and Guidelines including, but not limited to, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, The Fair Housing Act, and the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act.
