Summary

The President/CEO will be a visionary and strategic leader with a passion for cooperative values and community impact. This individual will be responsible for guiding the Credit Union’s continued growth, financial strength, and operational excellence while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and member-first service. The President/CEO oversees all Credit Union activities in alignment with the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors and is based at the Credit Union’s headquarters in New Holstein, WI.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establishes and drives the strategic direction of the Credit Union in alignment with the mission, vision, and long-term goals set by the Board of Directors.
  • Provides leadership and supervision to the senior management team
  • Chairs the Asset-Liability Management Committee (ALCO), promoting sound financial strategies and effective risk management practices.
  • Determines interest and dividend rates in accordance with market conditions, financial performance, and member value.
  • Directs the Credit Union’s lending operations and sales initiatives to support strong portfolio performance and member satisfaction.
  • Serves as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies, maintaining full compliance with applicable laws and cultivating positive relationships with examiners.
  • Acts as an investment officer, managing the Credit Union’s investment portfolio to optimize returns within established risk parameters.
  • Leads the development, implementation, and enforcement of organizational policies and procedures to promote operational consistency and regulatory alignment.
  • Oversees all aspects of staffing, including recruitment, training, development, and separation, to build and retain a skilled, engaged workforce.
  • Addresses and resolves member concerns and complaints, reinforcing the Credit Union’s commitment to exceptional service.
  • Safeguards all Credit Union assets, including physical facilities, member data, cybersecurity, and fraud prevention systems.
  • Leads the Credit Union’s compliance efforts, upholding adherence to all regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintains a transparent and constructive relationship with the Board of Directors by actively participating in board meetings, providing regular updates on Credit Union performance, and offering strategic insights.
  • Exhibits a strong desire to give back through active involvement in community service, civic organizations, or charitable initiatives, reinforcing the Credit Union’s community-focused mission.
  • Demonstrates a high level of initiative and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain operational excellence.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field required; Masters degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role, preferably at a financial institution.
  • Prior lending experience or equivalent knowledge of lending and loan departments preferred.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform the essential functions of the position including, but not be limited to the following:

  • Office environment – use of office equipment including computer, telephone, copier/printer.
  • Ability to sit at a computer for an extended period.
  • Frequently required to walk, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
