This new webinar series is designed to put lenders on the road to compliance and success. Wade through the “regulatory alphabet soup” and break down each important regulation. Each of the six 60-minute recorded sessions can be used as a stand-alone module for new hires or ongoing training.

Reg Z & TILA – Non - Real Estate

Join us for a discussion of the requirements imposed by the Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z as they apply to nonreal estate loans and credit cards. During the session, participants will hear about disclosure requirements, trigger terms, and other advertising considerations for both open-end and closed-end loans. In addition, attendees will review the following provisions of the CARD Act: ability to repay, application and solicitation disclosures, proper allocation of payments, product limitations, and internet posting of credit card agreements.

Reg Z & TILA – Real Estate

Join us for a discussion of the requirements imposed by the Truth in Lending Act and Regulation Z as they apply to real estate loans. During the session, participants will learn about disclosure requirements for HELOC’s, ARM loans, and closed-end consumer credit transactions secured by a dwelling. The ability-to-repay rule, high-cost mortgages, higher-priced mortgage loans, and TILA’s servicing requirements specific to mortgage loans will also be covered.

Join us for a discussion of the requirements imposed by the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act and Regulation X. During the session, participants will learn about the scope and coverage of RESPA, including the statute’s prohibition against kickbacks and unearned fees, as well as notification requirements in connection with servicing transfers and force-placed insurance. In addition, this session will cover the procedural requirements in connection with escrow accounts and Regulation X’s protections for delinquent mortgage borrowers.

Join us for a session covering the requirements imposed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act and Regulation V. During the session, participants will learn about the permissible purposes for accessing a consumer’s credit report, as well as notification requirements specific to mortgage loans and risk based pricing. The rules related to affiliate marketing, how to handle direct disputes, and he requirements associated with making a firm offer of credit will also be covered. Finally, attendees will learn how to address fraud and active-duty alerts on a consumer report.

Join us for a session covering the requirements imposed by the Equal Credit Opportunity Act and Regulation B. During the session, participants will hear about protected classifications under the ECOA and the various forms of discrimination that your institution must be on the lookout for. Attendees will gain a solid knowledge of Regulation B’s rules governing the evaluation of credit applications as well as notification requirements when taking adverse action. Proper collection of government monitoring information and rules associated with providing appraisal and other valuation copies will also be explained.

Join us for a session covering the requirements imposed by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act and Regulation C. During the session, participants will learn about HMDA’s institutional coverage test and what constitutes a reportable transaction. The session will also cover the data collection requirements for both traditional and low-volume filers, recording and reporting requirements, and rules concerning the public disclosure of HMDA data.

He is a member of the Iowa State Bar where he is licensed to practice law.
