Live with Passion and Work on Purpose

Dr. Alise Cortez, Chief Purpose Officer and Founder | Alise Cortez and Associates

In today’s hustle-and-bustle world, who has time for passion and purpose? “I can barely keep up with life - getting the kids to school and everything going on at work. I’m exhausted!” As working professionals, it seems we leave little time and energy to care for ourselves. But as far as we know, we only get one shot at this thing called life to make the difference we so desire. So, what will you do with your precious gift and to make the contribution and impact you want? Grabbing your gusto means digging for your own zest and taking ownership for what meaning you give your experiences, being intentional about your mindset, cultivating passion and inspiration, and awakening to your purpose. You owe this to yourself. And guess what? When you live and work from passion and purpose, you generate potent impact worthy of your precious life, and everyone WINS!

Learning Objectives

  • Discovering you own zest
  • Take ownership of WHAT you give meaning to
  • Awaken your purpose and passion

Ask Outrageously! The Secret to Getting What You Really Want

Linda Swindling, Negotiation speaker, author |  Linda Swindling YOUR GO-TO-NEGOTIATION EXPERT

Do you ask for what you want? Or, do you simply take what you’re offered? There is magic in asking. The strongest friendships, top sales teams, and most successful businesses have one thing in common – courageous people who feel the fear and still ask for what they want. People who achieve the best results are people who know how to ask outrageously. In this presentation, Linda Swindling shares negotiation strategies which help people show up powerfully and ask for what they really want. She’ll show how to spot the other people’s negotiation (DEAL) styles in order to communicate effectively and create outrageously great outcomes. Team members and their leaders will know how to negotiate the best deals at work and in life with confidence and integrity.

Learning Objectives

  • Turn negotiations into a conversation instead of a confrontation;
  • Show up powerfully and communicate effectively so that others will listen;
  • Reach winning results with integrity and confidence;
  • Create significant connections with key people and attract support for their ideas;
  • Spot other people’s negotiation (DEAL) styles; and

The Power of Mindful Breath

Emma Rose, Physician Assistant-Certified, Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist, and member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers

There’s no question we live in an over-stimulating world. Our human brains aren’t designed for this bombardment of sensory input, and, not surprisingly, many of us react to it in kind – by Overthinking, Over planning, and Overextending ourselves. We engage not in thoughts and behaviors that are best or normal for us instinctively, but by those that are normalized by society. Since stress is inevitable, having a tool to gracefully manage it can mean the difference between a mediocre life, and one so fulfilling you’ll actually wake up feeling excited.

With the ability to calm your nervous system, boost immune function, deepen sleep, enhance mental clarity, improve performance, and even rewire our subconscious thoughts, there are few other activities as powerful as intentional breathwork. Breathing, unlike many other automatic functions, is something we can manipulate, and doing so creates a bridge between our conscious and subconscious brains.  It allows communication that isn’t possible when we’re in a constant state of “fight-or-flight,” hustling to keep up, and enables us to create, believe, and foster Leveled-Up ideas and thoughts.  We have the power to change our realities and focusing on our breath is one way to start.

Join Emma Rose, PA-C, for an exploration of breathwork, complete with guided exercises that will leave you feeling calm, clear, confident, and inspired.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand basic breathing neurophysiology
  • Learn about short and long-term benefits of a breathwork practice
  • Experience, and compare the immediate and short-term benefits of two styles of intentional breathwork
  • Have an idea of how to incorporate affirmations into your breathwork practice
  • Create a personalized breathwork plan
