Agenda

The credit union movement was built on the foundation of “people helping people.” That means there are a lot of passionate, energetic credit union young professionals who consistently look to make a difference in their local communities. 

In the midst of day-to-day activities, it can feel overwhelming to determine where and how to begin, and what kind of positive impact you can make. December’s YP Boot Camp will help you to align your values with mission-driven purpose.  

Join us for a day focused around Community and Confidence where you will learn how to: 

  • Enhance confidence and communication skills within the workplace while advocating for meaningful change 
  • Improve leadership skills 
  • Identify opportunities to make local impacts

What Makes Me Tick?

Scott Wuerch Organizational Learning & Development Specialist | Royal Credit Union 

Using the 16 personalities online test, participants will gain an individualized look into what makes them tick. Not only gaining understanding of themselves, but participants will also be able to better understand their co-workers, friends, and family as well. The 16 personalities are a great starting point to building better self-management, leadership, and communication skills.

In this interactive session, you'll join CUInsight's CEO Lauren Culp to uncover the link between self-discovery and success. She'll share the career strategies and leadership tips that got her to the CEO role at just 26, along with a framework for mapping out your own career pathway. You'll learn how to define your values, gain confidence, and grow as a leader – no matter your current position.

Catholic Charites Warming Center 
The La Crosse Warming Center’s mission is to work with the greater La Crosse community to better serve those experiencing homelessness with dignity and respect by providing a safe and warm place for homeless adults to get out of the cold during the winter months. Guests are also able to take a shower and wash their clothes at this location. Additional details about the service project will be provided closer to the event.

Scott Wuerch

Scott Wuerch, Organizational Learning & Development Specialist | Royal Credit Union 

Scott has been with Royal Credit Union for over 12 years. He has been instrumental in facilitating multiple education programs and leadership development opportunities for staff. These sessions include: a culturally immersive Foundations Week (new hires); Member Service Skills, Exploring Leadership and To Be a Leader programs as well as Leadership Development for current Leadership roles. Scott has also led sessions on Emotional Intelligence and Personality Types as well as staying up-to-date on continuing developments in culture change/development. 

 

 

Cheryl DuttonCheryl Dutton, Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer | Altra Federal Credit Union

Cheryl joined Altra Federal Credit Union in 2012 and has since led an award-winning team that has enhanced Altra’s brand awareness throughout their core markets and become an organization known for giving back to the community. Cheryl was recently named Senior Vice President & Chief Marketing Officer. In addition to Altra’s marketing and community relations efforts, in her new role, Cheryl will champion Altra Financial Advisors and be responsible for overseeing Altra’s advocacy efforts and industry-leading member experience team. She received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse.

 

Danielle FrawleyDanielle Frawley, CCUE, CUDE, CSME, Executive Vice President & Chief Experience Officer | Fort Community Credit Union  

Danielle developed her love for credit unions during college and quickly realized this was her home. As EVP/Chief Experience Officer of Fort Community Credit Union (FCCU), she is responsible for driving the member experience through all facets of retail, digital experience, marketing, strategy, support, and member engagement. Danielle’s past roles include Vice President of Marketing, Chief Retail Officer, and Chief Lending Officer at Fort Community Credit Union. In these roles Danielle implemented electronic and remote delivery for lending and retail, doubled insurance income, rebranded the credit union, and completed a core conversion. She has held previous roles at Filene Research Institute and was the Director of Innovation at Blackhawk Community Credit Union. 

A committed community advocate, Danielle has held past positions as a Board Member of her local Chamber of Commerce, the Humane Society of Jefferson County, and is currently the Past President of the Whitewater Community Foundation.

Danielle holds a B.B.A. degree in International Business and a minor in Spanish from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. She holds the Credit Union Strategic Marketing Executive Designation (CSME), is a 2011 graduate of CUNA Management School (CCUE), a 2013 Government Affairs Conference Crasher, a 2013 Big Bright Minds Crasher, was designated a Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) in September 2014 and was honored as a 2016 CUNA Rock Star. Danielle was also a part of the Filene i3 Class of 2015 and worked with fellow credit union executives on innovative projects such as Bank on Family.  

Jami OlcottJami Olcott, President/CEO | Marathon County Employees Credit Union

Jami has over 17 years in The Movement and has been leading her credit union since 2017. She has served on The League's Board of Directors as the YP Adviser. She is also an active participant in the YP Network.

Prior to her current role, she was a Sr. Financial Analyst at CoVantage Credit Union. She has a Bachelor’s Degrees in Accounting and Business Administration from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point and an MBA from Concordia University. Jami has dedicated her career to the high goals and principles of the Credit Union Movement.

 

Verve, A Credit UnionBlake Sjoberg, Area Operations Manager | Verve, a Credit Union 

Blake has worked in the credit union movement since 2006. In his current role as Area Operations Manager for Verve, a Credit Union, Blake manages budgeting, customer service, sales, strategic planning and team development for 8 branches.

 

Lauren CulpLauren Culp, CUDE, Publisher & CEO | CU Insight.com

Lauren leads the growing team at CUInsight, connects with the credit union community through thought leadership, works with organizations serving credit unions to maximize their brand and exposure, and represents the trade publication at credit union events across the globe. An accomplished speaker and facilitator, Lauren presents to audiences of all sizes on a variety of topics. A certified credit union development educator (CUDE) and i3 program alum, Lauren spent time at Filene Research Institute and at a credit union before making her way to the industry’s leading digital trade publication.
