The No Nonsense Experience (NNE)™: Diversity, Inclusion, and Bias Workshop

This four-week 1-hour No Nonsense Virtual Experience (NNE)™ is a deep dive into Diversity, Inclusion, and Bias. During this NNE you will be introduced to the Diversity, Inclusion, and Bias (DIBs)™ Model which undergirds much of the work we do. In each week of the Four-Week Experience, participants will be provided with homework or prework that serves as prompts and the foundation for in-session discussions. Attendees will be placed into cohorts of 8 people that meet for 60 minutes, once a week, for 4 weeks. Trained facilitators will guide participants toward building comfort, strength, and strategies for change, in partnership with their cohort. This cohort learning model challenges and supports professionals as they engage with others in sometimes sticky and difficult conversations. We utilize a ‘no nonsense’ approach to create an environment that allows participants to grow while feeling “The RIGHT Kind of Uncomfortable”.

Participants will learn:

  • Diversity, Inclusion, and Bias (DIBs Big 9™) model in a Case Study Format
  • Heightened ability to engage in challenging and uncomfortable discussions
  • The DEI business case from a moral, ethical, and risk mitigation perspective

Session 1 – Level setting and the difficulty of baselining language
Too often conversation between well meaning colleagues can head down a bad path when there has not been a group identification of terms.  How do you navigate this challenge to set up the best possibility of success.

Session 2 – Using history as a lens for Intersectionality
In each of our organizations there are mistakes we have made in the DEI space, no one is perfect but how do we effectively use them to drive us forward as an organization and not apart from one another.

Session 3 – Leading the conversation: Difficult but not Impossible
Leading DEI conversations in the absence of expertise is part of today’s leadership challenge.  We will engage in leadership exercises allowing participants the challenge of leading in the absence of expertise.

Session 4 – Making the business connection
A clear understanding of the business case is critical.  Just as critical is being able to draw a ‘local’ business connection.  The final session will engage participants in discussions around the business case and leave them with ‘call to action’ as they return to their roles.

*Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at the conclusion of the 4th Session
