Keynote Speakers (Thursday)

Can Generative AI (GenAI) Help “People Helping People” and Drive Financial Health?

Lee Wetherington, Senior Director | Corporate Strategy | Jack Henry
GenAI is recalibrating credit unions’ data strategy and resetting expectations for what’s possible. How will GenAI impact credit unions, members and financial services at large, and where are we seeing those impacts first? Do you have enough data or the right data to tune the Large Language Models (LLMs) behind GenAI? Will it level the playing field between small and large financial institutions? And how can you capture upside potential while minimizing downside risks? Join Lee Wetherington for an update on where we are now and a look at what’s to come.

Purpose, Happiness, and Financial Well-being

Dr. Christine B. Whelan, Author, Professor and Speaker | School of Human Ecology at the University of Wisconsin – Madison
Dr. Christine Whelan is an expert on the intersection of Purpose, Happiness, and Financial Well-being. In this energetic and interactive keynote, University of Wisconsin - Madison’s “Happy Professor” Dr. Christine B. Whelan, explores the true definition of thrift and practical ways to invest in your future self, as well as inspire your members to do the same.

The Wisconsin Credit Union League, Corporate Central Credit Union and Filene brought together WILD for our fourth year! Filene engaged with credit union leaders across Wisconsin over a five-month period to solve big challenges faced by members and their communities. WILD is a leadership development program that guides innovators as they build their strategic mindset, enhance their unique skills and learn new competencies to adapt and thrive in a tumultuous world. Participants move from insights to ideation, from prototyping to testing, and their home-grown innovations will be officially unveiled on the stage at Convention. You will experience the results of two innovative groups who use their collective member experiences to develop products and services for tomorrow and beyond.

The effort is a collaboration of The League and Corporate Central Credit Union, which are coordinating and funding the program; The Filene Research Institute, which engages participants in the ideation, development, and implementation; and credit unions, which dedicate themselves to a five-month process of engagement.
