This conversation will be led by the League's Paul Guttormsson, SVP & General Counsel and Patrick Rees, Director of Commercial Lending, from Reach Business Lenders.

Paul Guttormsson

Senior Vice President & General Counsel | The League

Paul drafts regulatory comment letters on behalf of credit unions, helping to shape regulations that affect credit union operations, income, and member service. He also supports The Legal Affairs team with telephone and email assistance to credit unions as well as research and analysis to develop The League’s ii releases, and he is a frequent presenter for League compliance roundtables and webinars. In addition, he oversees The League’s forms program.

Paul graduated with honors from UW-Eau Claire in 1985 and worked as a newspaper editor for several years before attending the University of Wisconsin Law School, where he graduated with honors in 1994. He joined The League in 2001.

Patrick Rees

Director of Commercial Lending | Reach Business Lenders

Patrick Rees joined Reach Business Lenders in 2023 as the Director of Commercial Lending. He is responsible for providing Wisconsin Credit Unions with quality commercial loans by engaging with business owners from across the state of Wisconsin while providing both borrowers and Credit Unions with the highest quality loan origination experience. 

Patrick has spent nearly two decades in the banking industry in Wisconsin, the past ten of which have focused on business banking and commercial lending. He has experience with commercial real estate financing, commercial construction, SBA lending, practice finance, and several other specialty finance programs. Patrick holds a B.A. degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
