This session will cover the fundamentals of Asset Liability Management (ALM), starting with the ABCs, including what ALM is, why it matters, and how it supports sound balance sheet decision making. We will walk through interest rate risk, focusing on how changes in rates impact earnings, net worth, and liquidity without getting overly technical. The discussion will then expand to the benefits of integrating ALM with liquidity management, CECL, and other balance sheet management disciplines, showing how a more connected approach can improve insight, reduce risk, and support better strategic planning.

Speakers

Adam Stone

Senior Vice President Investment Services – Corporate Central Credit Union, President – QuantyPhi

Adam Stone joined Corporate Central and QuantyPhi as Vice President ALM & Investments in May 2020 and was promoted to Executive Vice President Investment Services of QuantyPhi in January 2023. In March of 2024, he accepted the role of President of QuantyPhi. He has been primarily responsible for managing ALM and consulting programs for member credit unions. Additionally, he has overseen the sales of investment products to member credit unions as well as the design and execution of QuantyPhi’s business plan and growth initiatives.  

Adam has over 17 years of experience in the financial services industry. He spent eight years as an Investment Analyst and Senior Investment Analyst for Corporate Central. Then he moved to New York City where he spent six years as a Senior Consultant and Manager for a large audit and advisory firm specializing in treasury, ALM and liquidity risk management for large, global financial institutions. Adam earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from UW-Madison 

Katy Zaleski

Leadership & Organizational Development Consultant | Humanidei

Katy Zaleski has over a decade of experience driving strategic initiatives across departments, playing a critical role in shaping organizational culture and driving professional and organizational development. 

Katy’s career is a blend of philanthropy and credit union service. She began on the front teller lines and progressed into an IT Core Systems Specialist role, where she led key initiatives in process improvement, operational efficiency, and project management. Her path then led to Human Resources leadership. As Vice President of Human Resources at Simplicity Credit Union, she led the Human Resources, Training and Financial Education Departments with a focus on culture, career development, and operational excellence.    

Katy is passionate about the credit union movement and the impact it has on members, communities, and the teams who serve them. Her work reflects a deep belief in the power of people helping people and a workplace culture that empowers teams. 

Marissa Weidenfeller

Senior Client Marketing Manager | TwoScore

Marissa brings a rare blend of crisis communication expertise, public relations mastery, and credit union experience to her role as Senior Client Marketing Manager at TwoScore.

Her background as Director of Communications for a public school district sharpened her skills in high-stakes messaging, strategic planning, community development, and measurable growth initiatives—all grounded in building trust and clarity. 

Combined with her experience as Director of Marketing at a $300M+ credit union, Marissa’s skill set offers clients an uncommon advantage: a dual-industry perspective that approaches credit union challenges with both operational depth and community-centered vision.  Turning complex goals into clear, actionable marketing strategies—balancing data-driven decision-making with the empathy and intentionality that define the credit union movement.
