Hurry to book a hotel room for Hike the Hill

by Christine Henzig, Director of Communications Jun 08, 2018

The League’s annual Credit Union House/Hike the Hill event in Washington, D.C., Sept. 25-26, offers an exceptional opportunity to meet with Wisconsin’s Congressional delegation, among them Wisconsin representatives who have strategic importance for credit unions nationally. We need several participants - particularly CEOs but also top managers, board members and even young professionals - from every part of the state to make a strong showing. Discounted lodging ends Aug. 28.

Attend to:

Advocate for your members & millions more; they're counting on you!

Credit unions nationally are affected by the decisions made by influential Wisconsin lawmakers, namely Rep. Sean Duffy (R-Wausau) and Rep. Gwen Moore (D-Milwaukee), who serve on the U.S. House Financial Services Committee; U.S. House Speaker Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Janesville), and tax-writing Ways & Means Committee, member Rep. Ron Kind (D-La Crosse). Our state has an obligation to represent the Movement well and ensure they understand our issues and priorities. Our Movement is stronger when everyone plays their part, and our part is to show up in force to ensure the Wisconsin delegation are credit union champions.

Receive legislative and regulatory updates

Briefings will help attendees craft key messages with the most up-to-date information on legislation and advocacy efforts on topics including:

Make the “Credit Union Difference” impactful through stories

Members of Congress remember stories, so we'll again share the real-life ways your credit union makes a difference for your members and communities. We'll also share stories about how the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau's (CFPB's) onerous rules have impeded your member service. You’ll leave behind a Scorecard, which cites the statewide impact of credit unions’ social responsibility.

Develop relationships and illustrate the strength of our Movement

Wisconsin lawmakers in D.C. go out of their way to visit with us, often at the Credit Union House. A strong attendance allows members of our Congressional delegation to see the diversity and level of engagement of credit unions statewide. Legislators and their staff are also invited to further get to know their constituents during an evening rooftop reception.

Register now and contact Andrea Gugel for assistance arranging lodging. Discounted rooms are available through August. 28.

Thank you, Hike sponsors
