Wisconsin is facing a COVID-19 crisis, and we all need to work together to help get it under control. That’s why The League is proud to be one of nearly 50 organizations that have joined in an effort aimed at combatting the growing public health crisis in the Badger State.

“Stop the Covid Spread!” is a coalition of Wisconsin’s leading health care, business, and advocacy organizations who have joined together to urge the public to take preventative measures seriously so that we can all continue to safely participate in Wisconsin’s economy.

On October 19, the coalition launched our first ad campaign, including a public service announcement featuring former Wisconsin Governor, United States Secretary of Health and Human Services, and current University of Wisconsin System President Tommy Thompson.

This was followed up with a second ad campaign on October 28, featuring Adrian Amos, Kenny Clark, and Marquez Valdes-Scantling of the Green Bay Packers.

And, as of November 2, the coalition has released its third public education announcement, featuring a frontline nurse in Appleton, Wisconsin.

November 10 Update: The statewide coalition effort to combat the spread of COVID-19 has doubled down on the urgency of its messaging as Wisconsin’s public health crisis threatens to overwhelm the state. The new ad comes as Wisconsin again hit new daily COVID-19 records, surpassing 7,000 new cases in a single day, and after a White House task force report again warned that Wisconsin’s ongoing health emergency will continue to lead to increasing hospitalizations and deaths unless more serious action is taken.

We hope that you will join us in sharing these important messages! Learn more about the coalition and what all of us can do the help combat this public health crisis.

November 19 Update: With the holiday season upon us, COVID-19 is spreading uncontrollably throughout Wisconsin. Your loved ones need you to take preventative measures seriously to #STOPtheCOVIDspread, keep them safe, and ensure that you have many more holidays together.

November 30 Update: Keeping ourselves, our friends, neighbors and loved ones safe is not political. Today, the “Stop the Covid Spread!” coalition sent an important reminder of that message with the latest ad in the group’s statewide effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. The new public education message features Republican Wisconsin Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and Democratic Congressman Mark Pocan with a joint message of public safety.

Representing different political parties, geographic areas and bodies of government, Congressman Pocan and Speaker Vos have come together for a cause that all Wisconsin residents can agree on: beating COVID-19. Their unity on this important issue is a crucial and timely reminder that we ALL need to work together to slow the spread of COVID-19.

The League is proud to be part of the “Stop the Covid Spread!” coalition, a group of Wisconsin’s leading health care, business, education, and advocacy organizations who have all joined in the team effort to urge the public to step up and take preventative measures seriously. The coalition has grown dramatically since its launch and now includes over 100 Wisconsin organizations.

You can learn more about the coalition and how we all need to step up to help stop the spread. We hope you'll join us in sharing this crucial message with your friends and family. It doesn’t matter which political party you identify with or where you live: Wisconsin needs a unified message and response to turn this public health crisis around before it overwhelms our state.
