We are very proud of the awesome people that power The Wisconsin Credit Union League. Take a few minutes to put a face to a name and learn some fun facts about our team!


Brett Thompson

Brett Thompson, President & CEO

Time at The League: 22 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: Working with credit unions that have a passion for what they do.
Fun Fact: I have run two marathons.





Beth Ellis

Beth Ellis, SVP Finance & Strategic Partnerships

Time at The League: 4 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: The variety in my days, supporting both our team and our members in delivering The Credit Union Difference.
Fun Fact: I traveled to all 50 states as a child, and I'm kicking off a tour of the country with my own kids this summer!



Paul Guttormsson

Paul Guttormsson, SVP & General Counsel

Time at The League: 21 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: Helping credit unions learn about the laws that affect them
Fun Fact: My wife and I actually share a birthday.





Sarah Wainscott

Sarah Wainscott, Senior Vice President – Advocacy

Time at The League: 13 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: Every single day there is something — a member, a stat, a story – to remind you that our work is meaningful and worthwhile. It’s both a pleasure and an honor to showcase how credit unions are built to & exceed expectation in empowering their members and communities to thrive.
Fun Fact: I met my husband while we both worked in the FanZone team store at Miller Park in college (Go Brewers! #thisismycrew)



Sammy Dennis

Sammy Dennis, Vice President of Communications

Time at The League: Almost four years
Favorite Thing About The Job: Playing a part in protecting & promoting the Credit Union Difference. 
Fun Fact: I occasionally play guitar (poorly) and have been known to sing karaoke a time or two! 





Jennifer Esser

Jennifer Esser, Vice President of Professional Development

Time at The League: 22 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: What I enjoy most about working with the League is bringing people together to learn to network and share ideas and challenges.
Fun Fact: I enjoy playing pickle ball! It’s a great way to meet new people and get some exercise.





Josh Roberts

Josh Roberts, VP of System Collaboration & Development

Time at The League: 8 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job:  I love getting to visit with credit unions around the state. There is nothing quite like seeing first-hand how folks at their credit unions are doing great things for their members and their communities. I also really enjoy getting to work with credit unions and brainstorm different ways that they can serve their members.
Fun Fact: I have been skydiving twice, I read 15 books in 2022, and I am an Eagle Scout.




Kim Hoppe

Kim Hoppe, Director of the Compliance Specialist Program

Time at The League: 11 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job:  My co-workers are the best, very knowledgeable, professional, and always willing to help each other and our members.
Fun Fact: I played NCAA Division II volleyball at University of Wisconsin-Parkside.





Jenny Klamm 

Jenny Klamm, Director of Meetings & Events

Time at The League: 3.5 years
Favorite Thing About The Job: The truly cooperative spirit across credit unions, system partners, and my colleagues. I am always learning from these connections.
Fun Fact: My entire front yard is a perennial garden. I spend a lot of summer hours digging in the dirt!

Favorite Thing About The Job: The people.  The League staff is great to work with and so are the staff of our member credit unions. 
Fun Fact: Against the recommendations of my own body, I still snowboard and pitch in a local men’s baseball league.

Favorite Thing About The Job: I’ve observed many changes over the years and love that League staff continues to provide exceptional service to our member credit unions!
Fun Fact: I’m one of 10 in my family & family means everything to me!

Favorite Thing About The Job: I love the enthusiasm that The League staff has for protecting and promoting Credit Unions and their members!
Fun Fact: I am a Type 1 diabetic and have been since I was 7!

Fun Fact: I love to travel and have visited over 20 countries!

Fun Fact: I love animals and can’t wait to have a farm of my own someday!

Favorite Thing About The Job: being a part of such a talented and dedicated team that is focused on serving our members.
Fun Fact: Volunteerism is an important part of my life and my free time is divided between serving my community with the Verona Lions Club and visiting kids and seniors with my two therapy dogs.




Rod Cory

Rod Cory, Compliance Specialist

Time at The League: 7 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: Supporting eight credit unions with their compliance programs.
Fun Fact: I have visited 45 states. I plan on visiting the 5 remining with one road trip when I retire.





Terri Crisp

Terri Crisp, Compliance Specialist

Time at The League: 3 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: I wish I had known about credit unions sooner in my career, and that's partly why I'm so passionate about The Movement.  I am also happy to work for an org that truly cares about its employees.
Fun Fact: I am a self-taught calligraphist with my own signature style. I have made wedding invitations, shower invites, and other cards for many family and friends. #tlccalligraphy




Eileen Flugaur

Eileen Flugaur, Compliance Specialist

Time at The League: 6 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: The variety.  Each day brings new opportunities for me to provide assistance to credit unions.
Fun Fact: I have three older sisters that wanted to name me after a TV show….My Sister Eileen.  Clearly, their voices carried the vote. 





Julie Jennerjohn

Julie R. Jennerjohn, Compliance Specialist

Time at The League: 8 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: I enjoy having the opportunity to work with member credit unions either as their Compliance Specialist or assisting with audits and special projects.
Fun Fact: Except for working for a university for three years in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, my entire career has been in the financial institutions industry in Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula.





Laura Nelson

Laura Nelson, Compliance Specialist Program Manager

Time at The League: 6.5 Years
Favorite Thing About The Job: Culture of servitude: Credit unions serve their communities and members, the League serves our credit unions, and I get the opportunity to serve all of them and our team.
Fun Fact:  I love winter because of snowmobiling and ice fishing, but I also enjoy warming up next to our fireplace. I also love pheasant hunting with my husband and our German Pudelpointer.




Nikki Springer

Niki Springer, Compliance Resource Manager

Time at The League: Almost 11 years
Favorite Thing About The Job: I enjoy being part of a VERY large credit union family.
Fun Fact: I have a 12-year-old son, two mini dachshunds (Charlie – girl and Turbo – boy), and I love cars. This will be my first year racing my own car at the Street Drags in Madison this Summer!
