From October 13-17, over 40 Wisconsin credit unions and The League demonstrated their commitment to the cooperative principles, including Concern for Community and Cooperation Among Cooperatives during CU Community Days.
The event was held in conjunction with several other state League community outreach days across the country and highlighted the sixth and seventh Cooperative Principles of Cooperation Among Cooperatives and Concern for Community.
The official results of the week-long event are in, and Wisconsin's credit unions made the following impact:
- 8,295 volunteer hours
- 5,507 participating employees at 387 branches
- $96,558 in donations
- 6,950 snack bags/lunches prepared
- 100 families fed
- Miles of highways cleaned
- 800 hygiene kits & care packages assembled
- 500 birthday kits assembled
- 600 cans of food & 100 cases of water donated
- 1,700 pounds of bananas packaged
- Tons of school supplies for three schools donated
- 300 acts of kindness bestowed
From combatting food insecurity to assembling hygiene kits to highway cleanup to assisting at animal shelters and more, Wisconsin's credit unions made The Difference across the state.
