Area nonprofits benefit from 10k Charity Classic at 2026 Eau Claire Marathon
The Royal Credit Union Foundation once again partnered with the Eau Claire Marathon for another 10k Charity Classic on Saturday. Three area nonprofits will benefit from this year’s race: the L.E. Phillips Senior Center, the YMCA of the Chippewa Valley, and the Chippewa Valley Pickleball Club. The foundation pledged $15,000 to the organizations, and the amount awarded to each nonprofit is voted on by race registrants. The charity with the most votes gets $8,000. Second place gets $5,000, and third will receive $2,000. (Royal Credit Union, 5/2)
Rally Madison FC launches mental health awareness prematch tops
Rally Madison FC has released their 2026 charitable campaign prematch top in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. The light purple kit features several self-affirmation phrases across the front and back of the jersey. Rally Madison’s main kit sponsor, Dairyland, is featured front and center of the kit, while the UW Credit Union logo adorns the sleeve. UnityPoint Health Meriter is a special addition to this jersey on the lower back as a season-long partner for Mental Health Awareness with the club. (UW Credit Union, 5/4)
Royal Credit Union to host 2nd annual Diaper Drive
Royal Credit Union is partnering with Feed My People Food Bank, St. Croix Valley Food Bank, and Diaper Bank of Minnesota, to host its second annual Diaper Drive. According to a press release from Royal Credit Union, between May 1 and May 31, 2026, both unopened and opened packages of disposable diapers and wipes can be donated at any Royal office. Monetary donations will also be accepted at any office or online at Royal Credit Union Diaper Drive | Royal Credit Union to assist the non-profit partners in purchasing additional supplies to support those in need. Voting starts Tuesday for Royal Rump Rumble castles
Voting starts Tuesday for the best castle built from a record amount of donations to the Royal Rump Rumble diaper drive. While we wait for diapers to be distributed, Fox Communities Credit Union and the Action 2 News This Morning crew stacked donations of diapers into castles at the credit union branches and WBAY Building lobby. We thank everyone who donated. Because of you, we hit our ambitious goal of collecting 60,000 diapers to help local families in need. (Fox Communities Credit Union, 5/4)

Two Rivers Optimist Club Hosting an Electronics Recycling Event
The Two Rivers Optimist Club and Fox Communities Credit Union are teaming up for an electronics recycling event later this month. Residents are invited to drop off their unwanted electronics in the parking lot of the J.E. Hamilton Community House on Saturday, May 16th, between 9:00 and noon. Most items are accepted at no charge; however, there will be a charge for TVs, freezers, refrigerators and AC units. (Fox Communities Credit Union, 5/3)
Volume One's Food Truck Friday Will Bring The Heat In Its Eighth Season
It's finally food truck season, folks, and you know what that means: the return of Volume One's Food Truck Friday. Kicking off on Friday, May 8, Food Truck Friday will return to the Great Lawn at Phoenix Park (330 Riverfront Terrace, Eau Claire) every month through September. Shred Fest 2026: Another Year, Another Success!
On Saturday, May 2nd, the community came out in force to Lincoln Elementary School’s parking lot for MCU’s annual Shred Fest — and the results speak for themselves. Madison Credit Union and the Madison Fire Department Credit Union, with sponsorship support from Madison Firefighters Local 311, partnered once again with Pellitteri Data Destruction to offer free, on-site shredding to Madison residents. Pellitteri shredded all documents on the spot, ensuring the highest level of security for sensitive papers — and everything shredded gets recycled, not landfilled. Park City Credit Union to host grand opening event and ribbon cutting at new Wausau branch
Park City Credit Union will host a grand opening event and ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday, May 20 to celebrate the opening of a new, full-service branch at 2100 Stewart Avenue, Suite 100. The grand opening event will be open to the public from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The ribbon cutting will be held at 4 p.m. WIFC will also broadcast live from the new branch between 3:30 p.m. and 5:30pm. Corporate Central is proud to announce that Chris Felton, President/CEO, has been named a 2026 Credit Union House Hall of Leaders honoree, one of the highest distinctions within the credit union industry. The national recognition honors individuals whose leadership and service have made a lasting impact on the credit union movement at the local, state, and national levels. Felton was formally recognized by The Wisconsin Credit Union League during The Cooperative Spirit Awards and Recognition session on Friday, May 15, held as part of The League’s Annual Convention and Exposition.
