IT Systems Analyst - Heritage Credit Union

The IT Systems Analyst is responsible for the configuration, maintenance and operation of the company’s critical applications/systems, such as the core processor or lending systems. They recommend and research enhancements to the systems’ key components and ensure that operating systems, hardware, software and related operating procedures are updated to meet organizational standards.


  • Design, modify, develop, write and implement reports/enhancements to software programming applications – this includes ad hoc reports against the Credit Union’s data for the user community as needed (Symitar, Python, T-SQL, Business Objects and SQL Server Reporting Services)
  • Develop specifications/code using SQL, scripting and/or proprietary software languages
  • Work closely with vendors/software subcontractors for deployment of software solutions, monitoring, triage and resolution of complex issues
  • Responds to end-user calls for trouble-shooting, problem solving and guidance; call coverage for technical support line
  • Critical member of project teams – consults and provides technical guidance, develops project plan for technical tasks, manages project estimates, risk analysis, scope and deployment schedule
  • Supports, patches, installs software applications and server systems
  • Performs data mining from various data sources and structure datasets to be used in analytics projects – works closely with data analysts
  • Leads conversion efforts to ensure integrity of data produced
  • Uses statistical methods and analysis tools to analyze data and identify trends
  • Maintains and troubleshoots scripts/datasets to ensure data is accessible manually and by automated systems
  • Works with 3rd party vendors on product integration
  • Ensures that appropriate documentation and procedures are in place for each production system developed or enhanced


Two to five years of related experience including:

  • Minimum of 2 years supporting IBM AIX hardware and Windows servers
  • Experience with VMWare and client-server technologies
  • Minimum of 2 years working with software applications
  • Working experience with MS SQL queries, views and databases
  • Experience developing system requirements, designing reports and specifications
  • Advanced PC experience with knowledge of MS/Office products
  • 4-year college degree or completion of specialized course of study at a business or trade school or equivalent experience
  • Willing to work outside of scheduled hours to respond to technology issues
  • Great interpersonal skills
